Introducing cats is not new to me and all of my previous introductions have been short and easy. WeetBix, however, broke that steak when he showed signs of aggression towards Little Spoon, the resident cat, from day 1 and previously successful techniques were not effective with the  combo of her fear and his aggressiveness.

Kristiina began with focusing on building up Spoon's confidence and , at the same time, "chilling" Bix by playing with him until he was exhausted (in a good way). His energy had a positive outlet and her gumption and self-assurance grew.

Over time, they were able to get closer and closer physically with fewer signs of his "brattiness".

On Christmas Day loose together, they went nose-to-nose  three times both showing only interest and acceptance.

As ever, they're still a work in progress but I have 100% confidence that we'll be a happy household over time.

Aside from the practical tips Kristiina offered, the biggest help was her encouraging and supporting my patience.
